Corrinne “Jazz Hands” Mann
Corrinne has roots in classical and Broadway musical theatre, hence the “Jazz Hands”. Her love for the jazz and swing theatre classics lead her to become the swing dancing addict that she is today. She first got involved swing dancing when her love interest MacGyver Mann, now her husband, wanted to keep going back to get better. That was five years ago and it has been their stress relief and form of exercise ever since.
Corrinne’s performing career includes roles such as Janet in The Drowsy Chaperone, Millie in Thoroughly Modern Millie, Miss Scarlet in Clue the Musical and many other amateur and professional productions around the valley. She currently works with youth in music and dance at Actor’s Youth Theatre and Encore Arts Academy and acts as one of their resident choreographers. When it comes to swing dancing, she has been mentored and trained by the fabulous Jonathan Lindsay and also the dynamic duo Karen and Dabney Hopkins. She has competed and won many of Arizona’s swing competitions but has to admit that she would much rather be out social dancing with her man.
To Corrinne swing dancing is way to not only release endorphins, but also make yourself and other people happy. It is rare to see her face without a smile and her feet standing still when the music comes on. She loves to teach, perform, travel with her hubby…and all that jazz.
